Your site address

Your website has an address on the internet. To begin with it is a subdomain of nursee: for instance care-plus.nursee.ch.

You can then give it your own domain name, such as care-plus.ch.

The .nursee.ch subdomain

This is the address you chose when you created your site. It works perfectly, it is secure (the small padlock in the browser), and you can give it to your patients with no concerns at all.

To find it: go to Websites → Pages. It is shown just under the title, and the « Visit » button opens it in a new tab.

Why have your own domain?

A personal domain name — care-plus.ch instead of care-plus.nursee.ch — brings three things:

• Credibility. A short address looks more professional on a business card.
• Memorability. A patient remembers care-plus.ch more easily.
• Independence. The domain is yours. If you ever change provider, you keep it.

Where to manage your domain

Go to Websites → Site settings and scroll right down to the green section headed DOMAIN.

There are two possibilities.

Option 1 — Buy a domain (recommended)

By far the simplest: we take care of everything.

1. In the « Buy a .ch domain » box, type the name you want, without the .ch — for instance care-plus.

2. Click « Check ».

3. The result appears: the domain is available (with its yearly price) or already taken.

4. If it is available, click « Buy ».

5. Confirm the purchase in the window that opens.

Setup usually takes less than a minute. You see the progress step by step: payment confirmed, domain registered, DNS configuration, activation.

You have no technical setting to make. The domain is yours permanently, and it is transferable if you ever leave nursee.

Option 2 — Connect a domain you already own

If you bought a domain elsewhere (Infomaniak, Hostpoint, Gandi, OVH…), you can attach it to your site.

1. In the « I already have a domain » box, type your full domain, for instance my-practice.ch.

2. Click « Connect ».

3. A table of DNS records appears: type, name, value.

4. Sign in to your domain provider and add those records in its DNS zone.

5. Come back here and click « Check configuration ».

The table shows, for each record, whether it is Configured or Not configured. A small icon copies each value in one click, so you avoid typos.

Once the domain is active

A box reading « Your domain is active! » appears, with a Verified badge. You will see the registration date, the expiry date, the next renewal date, and whether automatic renewal is on.

Your old .nursee.ch address keeps working and redirects to the new one: patients with the old address are not lost.

Renewal

A domain name is rented yearly. Automatic renewal is on by default, and that is the right setting: you have nothing to watch.

Disconnecting a domain

The « Disconnect the domain from the site » button detaches the domain from your site without cancelling your domain subscription: the domain stays yours and you can reconnect it later.

Choosing a good domain name

• Short. It has to fit on a business card and be spellable over the phone.
• Easy to write. Avoid multiple hyphens, digits and words with tricky spellings.
• On .ch. That is the expected ending in Switzerland, and it reassures.
• Close to your business name. Your patients must make the connection immediately.
